Police find truck believed to be involved in deadly hit-and-run in Canandaigua

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (WHEC) — Police are still investigating a deadly hit-and-run that happened Saturday night in Canandaigua.

A call for a car that struck a pedestrian and fled the scene came in at around 6 p.m. on South Main Street near Niagara Street.

Police said the man was using his motorized scooter to cross the street when he was hit by a green Ford pickup truck.

He was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital but later died. Police Monday said the victim was 62-year-old Edwin Wesley of Canandaigua.

Police say they still have a person of interest in the case, but no arrests have been made as of Tuesday.

Tuesday, Canandaigua Police said they found the truck they were looking for at a storage facility in the Town of Canandaigua.
