First Alert Weather: Mild air continues… for now

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — After a chilly start in the upper 30s and lower 40s Tuesday morning, we rebounded quickly into the 60s, and we’ll keep that going into Wednesday and Thursday.

Wednesday will feature a few more clouds, especially later in the day, and just the outside chance of a brief evening shower. An approaching cold front later Thursday will bring increasing chances for showers and even some thunder. This will be another strong fall cold front, with highs dropping from the upper 60s on Thursday into the lower 50s on Friday, then near 50 over the weekend.

As far as rain chances go, Friday should be mainly dry but mostly cloudy. It’ll be cool enough for a few lake rain showers or some graupel on Saturday, but a good deal of dry time in the mix. Another shot of cooler air will move in on Sunday, bringing a slightly better chance for some weekend showers and chillier air for the start of next week.

In fact, there are some indications that overnight lows may drop well into the 30s for the early to middle part of next week, with some freeze issues a possibility. This is still about a week away, so the First Alert Weather Team will keep you updated on the potential for chillier air.
