Sectionals brackets released for Section V
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — As the NFL regular season rolls on, the high school football season is done, which means it’s time for sectionals. A pair of brackets have already been released.
In Class A-1, Brighton is the top seed after an undefeated regular season. They’ll face Churchville-Chili who’s the exact opposite.
A different theme: Two teams with identical records. That’s what you’re gonna have with Webster Thomas and Irondequoit. Both head into sectionals at 3-3. The Titans will host.
You won’t have to go far down the road for the next one. Webster Schroeder hosts Gates-Chili after beating them by 10 earlier in the year.
Rounding out things out: UPrep and Penfield. Griffins will play host at the number 2 seed.
In Class A-2, There was an undefeated squad and that was Canandaigua. It earns them the top seed against Greece Olympia/Odyessy.
Speaking of Greece squads, we’ve got a battle of them with Athena at Arcadia, the two teams being seeded right next to the other.
Head east and you might make your way to another sectional showdown: Eastridge visits East High. Both teams coming off of a loss.
Spencerport was scheduled to play Arcadia this past weekend but a forfeit gave the Rangers a win. They’ll host Brockport as the two-seed.
