ROMULUS, N.Y. New York’s first state veterans cemetery will be established in Seneca County.

On Friday, Gov. Hochul said the state took ownership of the Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery from Seneca County, becoming the New York State Veterans Cemetery – Finger Lakes. That means more money from the feds.

The National Cemetery Administration will now provide nearly $3 million for expansion and improvements there.
