First Alert Weather: No sign of fall air… for now

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Some towns flirted with 80 degrees Tuesday! And we’re certainly enjoying an unusually warm October, so far.

A weak cold front will increase our clouds tonight and perhaps bring a stray shower or two overnight, but temperatures will remain quite mild, only dropping into the lower 60s.

Wednesday and Thursday will both feature a few passing showers, but mainly dry conditions and temperatures in the lower half of the 70s. We’ll see a better chance for some showers on Friday as a slow-moving boundary moves overhead. Despite this, we should see one more day of well above average temperatures in the 70s.

A wave of low pressure nearby on Saturday will bring a wet start to the weekend, with periods of rain and temperatures dropping back through the 60s. This low has some tropical moisture with it, as it is the remnants of Hurricane Pamela, a tropical system in the Pacific moving into Mexico. So, we may see a soaking rain at times on Saturday, followed by much cooler air on Sunday with showers. In fact, it should be cool enough on Sunday for some lake-enhanced rain showers.

Fall will move in, at least for a few days next week, with highs in the upper 50s and lower 60s. High pressure moving in should clear the rain and skies on Monday, leading to a rather pleasant and more seasonable week next week.
