Body found in backseat of SUV at Hertz rental lot near Rochester airport

GATES, N.Y. — Police found a body in the backseat of an SUV at the Hertz car rental lot on Ajax Road across from the Rochester airport on Thursday.
Our crew learned that the SUV was never returned to the rental lot and was towed from the city. When employees moved the vehicle this morning, they discovered the body of an adult.
Gates Police, the Rochester Police Department tech unit, and the Monroe County Medical Examiner were at the scene of the rental lot. Our crew saw several police cars surrounding the SUV.
Gates Police said they’re treating the body as a suspicious death. They can’t say how long the person has been dead.

The Hertz team at the Rochester airport is cooperating fully with the police in their investigation of this incident. We do not have further comment at this time due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.
