First Alert Weather: Another day in Rochester, another day of summer-like weather

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — If you are keeping count, today makes 10 days in a row with unseasonably warm weather. And what is significant about this warm spell is not the intensity of the heat, but the duration of the warmth. If you prefer this kind of weather you are fortunate because it is likely to continue for the remainder of the workweek.

Tonight will bring mainly clear or fair skies with just some high clouds from time to time. It will be a pleasant evening with temperatures slowly falling through the 70s and a low temperature near 60 degrees. Tuesday will bring more sunshine with plenty of warm weather. The high temperature will be near 81 degrees, which is not far from the record high temperature of 84 degrees which was set back in 1938. This warmth is more typical of late August but without the humidity. There is a small chance of a few spotty showers Tuesday night and early Wednesday, but this precipitation will be very limited.

Thursday will again feature unseasonably warm weather with the high temperature in the middle 70s. Looking ahead to Friday the temperature could reach the upper 70s again.

However, you can expect a return to reality by the weekend.

The News10NBC First Alert meteorologists expect a much higher probability of showers on Saturday with the temperature falling into the mid-60s. Sunday there is still the chance of a lingering shower with most of the day expected to be in the 50s and a high temperature near 60 degrees.
