Deputies: Man arrested after child’s sippy cup containing alcohol was found in car, within reach of 2-year-old

MACEDON, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Syracuse man was arrested after deputies say they found a children’s sippy cup containing an alcoholic beverage in his car within the reach of a toddler.

Shawn J. Calabria, 32, of Syracuse, was arrested in September and charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies say they responded to a call on Wilkinson Road in Macedon that accused Calabria of having a child’s sippy cup in his vehicle which contained an alcoholic beverage and was within reach of a two-year-old.

Deputies say it was undetermined at the time of the incident if the two-year-old drank the beverage.

Calabria was transported to Wayne County Jail and is awaiting arraignment.
