ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Bryant & Stratton College is partnering with AutismUp for field work that is literally helping students grow.

Occupational therapy assistant students are paired with adults from AutismUp‘s full life academy, and together they’re creating a community garden.

It’s an empowerment project for everyone involved.

Thursday the group met for their final session to complete the garden.

"What’s really wonderful is typically for this fieldwork that we do we send students out to other facilities which is wonderful and we’re so thankful for those partnerships, but they’re all doing something different. here they’re working together," said Bryant & Stratton Academic Fieldwork Coordinator Tracey Taylor.

Students also helped AutismUp participants create personalized websites that can serve as a resume aid and game plan for the future.
