ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WHEC) — News10NBC got its first chance to talk with a Bills quarterback Tuesday though, not Josh Allen.

Bills quarterback Mitch Trubisky came to Buffalo for a fresh start. He signed a one-year contract with the Bills back in March, and that was to serve as backup QB to Josh Allen.

Today was our first day getting to speak with Trubisky since he signed with the Bills, and he said he didn’t have any offers in free agency to compete for a starting job anywhere, so, ultimately, he decided to come to Buffalo to develop more as a quarterback.

Mitch: “I fell into this organization, and I loved it ever since coming to Buffalo — just working under this coaching staff, working with the caliber, the type of players that we got here, the people and using all the resources — it’s just really nice to be apart of a great team and be somewhere where people want you here and they care about how you’re progressing as a person and a player. It was an interesting process, but I feel like I’m right where I’m supposed to be right now."
There’s less pressure on Trubisky in Buffalo than there was in Chicago with the Bears, but he says he really understands his role with the Bills. That’s to be ready to go at any moment and to be prepared and reliable."
