RPD: Attendee at ceremony for Denny Wright has tested positive for COVID-19

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Rochester Police Department is warning those who went to its recent ceremony for Denny Wright, who was seriously injured in the line of duty in October of 2019, that one of the attendees tested positive for COVID-19.

The ceremony was held on Thursday, Aug. 5. Wright was awarded a Medal of Valor and the Purple Heart.

The RPD said there has not been any confirmation of a widespread outbreak of the virus but it is still encouraging those who attended to monitor themselves for COVID-19 symptoms and speak to a doctor about whether or not they should get tested for COVID-19.
