West Webster Fire Dept.: SUV crashed through barricades, found in creek bed

WEBSTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The West Webster Fire Department shared on its social media page information about and photos of an SUV that crashed through the barricades on Lake Road where the bridge is being replaced.

The crash took place just after 4:00 a.m. Sunday at Lake Road and Shipbuilders Creek Road.

Firefighters found the vehicle in the creek bed and had to help the driver who was trapped as a result of the crash. He was checked out at Rochester General Hospital.

According to a post on the Webster Police Department social media, officers ticketed the unidentified 28-year-old driver for Driving while intoxicated, Driving while ability impaired by drugs and speeding. The man has a court date in Webster at a later date.

The area remains closed for bridge replacement construction. Police remind the public to follow the posted detour..
