Rochester Police: 2 shot just minutes apart Tuesday morning

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester Police are searching for who could have shot two men in two shootings just minutes apart early Tuesday morning.

Officers first responded to a Shotspotter activation on Sherman Street near Dana Street just before 12:30 a.m. and found a 19-year-old Rochester man with at least one gunshot wound to his upper body. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital but is expected to survive.

A News10NBC photojournalist spotted the victim being pulled from a car that had a bullet hole in the windshield on Emerson Street. Police told us an officer spotted the car on Sherman Street then pulled it over on Emerson Street.

The second shooting call came in just after 12:30 a.m. on Hudson Avenue at Avenue D. Police there found evidence of a shooting, but no victim. Police say a 27-year-old man from Gates was taken to Rochester General Hospital in a private vehicle. The man had at least one gunshot wound but is expected to survive.

No arrests have been made in either shooting.
