Sun dominates the second half of the weekend

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — It may seem hard to believe the difference in the weather today compared to Saturday’s record amount of rainfall.

For many, it was nice to salvage the second half of the weekend with some sunshine.

Dry weather is exactly what we needed as the temperature reached the upper 70s.

The News 10 NBC Weather Team expects an overall pleasant evening with clear to partly cloudy skies and comfortable temperatures.

Outside of an isolated shower, it should be dry for most of Western New York.

Your work week will start with some typical mid-summer weather. Monday will bring more sunshine and dry conditions. Expect a little more heat and humidity as we head into the afternoon as the mercury will rise into the low 80s.

By Tuesday, our little stretch of dry weather will be coming to an end as the probability of rain will increase for the afternoon. Tuesday will feature morning sunshine with an increasing threat of showers and thunderstorms for the mid- to late-afternoon. Expect the humidity to climb higher with the temperature rising into the mid-80s.

Any showers should end Thursday morning with partial sunshine for the afternoon. It will turn noticeably cooler and drier as a cold front crosses over Western New York. This will bring more comfortable weather with humidity falling and the temperature lowering into the mid-70s.
