HILTON, N.Y. (WHEC) — Saturday’s heavy rains prompted the Hilton Fire Department to cancel all events on the final night of the Hilton Firemen’s Carnival. That left the fire department with excess food that it is unable to return to vendors.

On Monday night, the department held a sale of uncooked hamburgers and hot dogs as well as macaroni salad, potatoes, American cheese slices and frozen dough balls while they lasted.

The sale was between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. at the Hilton Exempt Club on South Avenue.

The Hilton Fire Department posted on social media Monday night saying that they sold out of everything and thanking everyone who waited in line.

This year was the 120th annual Hilton Firemen’s Carnival. The festival featured rides, live music and of course, food. The department described the carnival turnout on previous nights as "amazing" and thanked everyone who attended.
