ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Rochester firefighter was hurt on the job Monday afternoon.

Just before noon, firefighters found the garage of a two-story home on fire on East Boulevard, behind the historic Culver House.

They had to bring in additional crews to help with water supply because the home is so far back from the street.

A total of four hose lines were needed and the fire was brought under control within about 30 minutes.

Officials say one firefighter’s hand was burned and they were taken to the hospital.

One car in the garage was destroyed and crews found two propane tanks in the garage that were leaking.

The American Red Cross is helping two adults who were not home at the time of the fire.

The Culver House was not damaged.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
