Man shot on Genesee Street during party has died

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A Rochester man shot late Sunday has died.

Police say they responded to Genesee Street near Frost Avenue for the report of a person shot around 11 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a 21-year-old with at least one gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to Strong Hospital where he went underwent emergency surgery. Rochester Police announced his death Monday afternoon. They have not identified the victim.

They say the man was shot during a party. They are working on determining what led up to the shooting.

There are no suspects in custody. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
