Deputies: Man found dead in Canandaigua Lake suffered cardiac event

NAPLES, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says the man who was found dead in Canandaigua Lake died of natural causes.

Eivind P. Rynning, 78, of Canandaigua, was found at around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 8 near Walton Point Drive in Naples.

Deputies said on Monday, July 12 that an autopsy found Rynning experienced a sudden cardiac event while he was swimming on the west shore of the lake.

The Sheriff’s Office says it has closed the cause as a natural death.
