First Alert Weather: Isolated shower, thunder tonight

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — We remain rather unsettled through the end of the week with a nearly stalled boundary overhead. This will keep a shower/storm threat around tonight and once again Wednesday.

Most storms Wednesday will be garden variety, but a few may produce gusty wind, primarily in the Finger Lakes, where more instability will be found. Highs will likely hold in the 70s north of the Thruway, and 80s in the Finger Lakes, south of the stationary front. We’ll get some tropical moisture pulled into WNY as what is left of Elsa churns up the east coast. This means any shower or thunder we get will produce a few tropical downpours. This system will pull away on Friday, with lingering showers Friday morning coming to an end.

The weekend: the weekend is looking pretty good at this point, with mainly dry weather and highs back into the lower 80s along with some sun. We may try to warm things up a little more next week, with highs back in the mid-80s and a little more humidity, along with a few rain/storm chances.

In all, we aren’t looking at any days that are a washout but also no prolonged dry stretches of weather other than this weekend.
