More than 2k without power in Monroe, surrounding counties as storms roll through

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— More than 2,300 people in the Rochester area are without power Tuesday as storms worked through the area.

According to RG&E, a majority of those without power are in Monroe County, with more than 2,320 customers in the dark. Specifically, outages are being reported on the northeast side, near Irondequoit.

RG&E estimates power will be turned back on by 3:15 p.m.

Irondequoit Town Supervisor Dave Seeley tweeted the town has several down trees and tree limbs. If you happen to come across any of these, you’re asked to call the town’s Department of Public Works.

The First Alert Weather team has issued a Yellow Alert as parts of the region faced a severe thunderstorm warning.
