Reports: Blue Jays could head back to Canada by end of July

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Toronto Blue Jays may be making a move from its current home in Buffalo to back north of the border.

According to reports from The Athletic and SportsNet, the team made a request to the federal Canadian government to return to play at Rogers Centre in Toronto beginning July 30.

The proposal has already been approved by city and province officials. Due to COVID travel restrictions, the team has been playing home games at Sahlen Field in Buffalo.

Despite an easing of travel restrictions for Canadians Monday, Canadian and United States governments aren’t expected to reevaluate the border closure until July 21.
