Movies in the Park: ‘Atlantis’ screening at Ontario Beach Park Friday

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Movies in the Park is back. The 2001 animated sci-fi movie “Atlantis” will be screened at Ontario Beach Park on Friday at dusk, half an hour after sunset.

Monroe County is holding seven film screenings for free at parks around the area from June to September. Before each movie screening, there will be a scavenger hunt for copper roses as part of the Never Forget Rose campaign to honor the Veterans Outreach Center’s 50th anniversary of service. The scavenger hunt starts 30 minutes before the movie.

Handmade copper roses have been placed around Monroe County’s Parks. Each one has a QR code linking you to learn about a local veteran and the memorial that honors them.

Here is this year’s schedule for movie screenings:

  • “Dog” (June 29th – Innovative Field)
  • The Greatest Game Ever Played” (July 7th – Durand Eastman Golf Course)
