ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — An EF-2 tornado touched down Thursday morning in Wyoming County, with estimated peak winds of 115 mph and damage to several barns, but we’ll quiet things down nicely to end the work week.

The system that helped to spawn that tornado has moved east, and we’ll feel the difference on Friday! Humidity will drop, and our air dries out Friday into Saturday, making it feel much more comfortable. Friday should see a mostly sunny sky and just the slight chance of an isolated shower during the afternoon along a lake breeze. Highs on Friday will flirt with 80 with a fresher breeze.

The weekend couldn’t be better! We’ll see an abundance of sunshine on both days, with highs on Saturday near 80, and warming into the mid-80s for Sunday. Signs continue to point toward the return of sizzling summer heat for a good portion of next week. As far as rain chances go, we’ll see at least the chance for some storms on Tuesday and Thursday.
