First Alert Forecast: Temperatures and rain chances go up a little bit

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – We’ve had a few lovely days with temperatures in the 70s, dry weather and low humidity. That’ll start to change just a little bit for the 2nd half of the work week.

A weak warm front lifting through will bump our temperatures back into the 80s for Wednesday and Thursday, and bump our dew points back up into the 60s later Wednesday and into Thursday. This will give our air a little more of a muggy feel. As far as rain chances go, they’ll be going up a little bit, but many of us will remain dry for the rest of the week.

An isolated thundershower is possible late Wednesday into the overnight, with a few showers or a rumble on Thursday as a weak cold front moves back through. Moisture isn’t impressive, and neither is any forcing or instability. So, rain and thunder chances will remain fairly low. The cold front moves south on Friday, with the best chance for any showers being south of Rochester, closer to the NY/PA border.

High pressure moves back in for the weekend, setting the stage for more practically perfect weather! We’ll see an abundance of sunshine both Saturday and Sunday, with highs near 80 on Saturday, and into the 80s on Sunday. There are some signs that we’ll try to build more heat in toward the middle to end of next week. So, if you’re not a fan of the higher heat and humidity, enjoy the next week or so across western New York!
