Woman injured after car shot up on Clifford Ave

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Rochester woman was injured after her car was shot up on Clifford Avenue Monday evening.

At approximately 7:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Clifford Avenue for the report of a woman shot in the leg.

When police arrived, they located a 30-year-old woman whose car had been shot up while waiting at a red light.

Investigators learned that one of the bullets had penetrated the vehicle door, activating the side airbag, and caused a laceration to the woman’s lower body. Her injury was not directly from a bullet. The victim refused medical treatment.

At this time, investigators do not know if the victim was the intended target of the shooting or if there was any motive behind the incident.
