ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – Over a hundred students from U of R were having a "Framing Frenzy" today! The students, joined Flower City Habitat for Humanity to frame a total of five houses in the Beechwood neighborhood. It’s all to help Habitat for Humanity make progress on its goal of seven new homes in the area.

"Any community that is revitalizing and growing and being restored needs anchor residents, and that comes with home ownership. So anything that we can do to partner with groups like Habitat for Humanity to increase the opportunities for home ownership here in Beechwood is going to help the community incredibly,” said Lashunda Leslie-Smith, Executive Director of Connected Communities.

Officials anticipate the five houses to be finished and dedicated within the next year.
