Webster man accused of recording people in Lowe’s bathroom

WEBSTER, N.Y. — A 28-year-old man is facing charges after Webster Police say he recorded people in the bathroom of a business with his phone.

And investigators say they believe there are more victims.

Christopher Murray of Webster is charged with unlawful surveillance and tampering with physical evidence, both felonies.

Officers say they started investigating on Sept. 27 after someone reported they had been recorded in a bathroom. According to court paperwork obtained by News10NBC, this happened at the Lowe’s on Five Mile Line Road.

Police say their investigation led them to Murray. According to court documents, Murray used his cellphone to record. When caught, he allegedly tried to delete the videos before police could look at his phone.

They say he is not an employee at the business.

So far, investigators have found another victim and are working to identify more.

Murray was arraigned in Webster Town Court and released. He’s due back in court next week.
