First Alert Forecast: Beneficial rain today to summer heat and humidity this week

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – Widespread rain continues to fall across the region this morning, and this rain will continue to fall through a majority of the morning hours ahead.

Out the door this morning, you will need the rain gear including the rain coat, umbrella, and even the rain boots as rain will be heavy at times. Rain this morning may produce pooling and ponding on local roadways, and even limit visibility at times, but flooding is not expected.

Rain this morning will transition over to isolated and scattered showers by the middle of today before remaining isolated by the evening commute. Showers will dry out early tonight, and additional rain for today will be between .25" and .5" with localized areas seeing a bit more.

This rain will make a significant dent in our deficit, but not completely erase it. Temperatures today will reach the upper 70s, and although on the cooler side of things we will remain rather humid with dew points in the mid and upper 60s.

After a some what cool day today though, the heat ramps up starting tomorrow. highs tomorrow afternoon return to the upper 80s. Highs through the remainder of the week will remain in the mid and upper 80s along with humid conditions.

Dew points through the remainder of the work week will be in the mid and upper 60s as well. This will also bring a few isolated storm chances through the rest of the week, but most of us will turn drier under partly cloudy skies for the majority of the week ahead.
