ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Update: The home is being torn down following two fires. Firefighter responded to the house on Friday and again yesterday morning. There is still no word on the cause of the fire.

Over 50 firefighters are working to contain a three-alarm fire in the area of East Main Street and Alexander Street on Monday morning.

Calls came in at approximately 7 a.m. Monday for a fire at a large home divided into about 20 single-room apartments. EMTs were seen treating at least one person who was rescued from the burning home and later taken to the hospital.

This is the same location that went up in flames around 2 a.m. July 15 after a vehicle fire spread to the apartment building, displacing 14 residents.

First responders say that fire damage from the previous blaze remained, but there is no word yet on the cause of either incident. The intensity of the fire is preventing crews from accessing the structure’s interior.

News10NBC will provide updates about this developing story.
