ATLANTA, GA (WHEC) – Mayo clinic laboratories began monkeypox testing today, increasing nationwide testing capacity. They will offer testing at their labs in Rochester Minnesota and they say they can accept tests from anywhere in the country. Mayo clinic laboratories expect to perform 10,000 tests per week, increasing the nation’s testing capabilities.

The CDC anticipates additional commercial laboratories will come online in the coming days, and monkeypox testing capacity will continue to increase throughout the month of July.

The CDC says if you believe you have monkeypox, speak to your health care provider about whether you need to get tested.
