ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police say a man led officers on a chase on the city’s north side in a car that was stolen at gunpoint.
Officers were on patrol just before midnight when they spotted a car that was reported stolen. RPD says that car failed to stop, leading to a chase that ended when the car struck a fire hydrant and a tree on Kohlman Street.
The driver, a man in his 40s, was taken into custody. He was the only person in the car. An ambulance took the man to Rochester General Hospital as a precaution. RPD says no one else was hurt during the chase and criminal charges are expected.
