HENRIETTA, N.Y. — A student has been charged with attempted assault and other counts in connection with a fight Tuesday — which involved a knife — at Rush-Henrietta High School.

The student, who’s male, was charged with second-degree attempted assault, second-degree menacing, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was given an expedited appearance ticket for youth court.

The arrest comes after a Monroe County Sheriff’s Office investigation into the fight, which happened just before the end of the school day. The superintendent said it was a fight between two students involving a knife, and that the school went into lockdown and buses were delayed for around 20 minutes. Officials say no one was injured and that calls went out to inform parents.
