RPD: Officer taken to hospital after intoxicated driver crashes into police car

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A man is charged with Driving While Intoxicated after Rochester Police say he struck a patrol car on Tuesday morning, sending an officer to the hospital.
The officer is recovering from a small cut on the head. According to RPD, an Irondequoit man in his 30s was traveling on Ravine Avenue when his car crashed into the officer’s car at the intersection with Dewey Avenue.
The crash happened just before 1 a.m. RPD says the Irondequoit man failed to yield to the right of way.
