Yellow Alert for Tuesday with lake effect snow showers and windy cold weather
ROCHESTER – Some snow will move through the region early Tuesday afternoon as gusty winds shift to the northwest and push some snow off of Lake Ontario. Coating to an inch for much of the region is expected. Behind this area of snow, local lake flakes will fly this afternoon into Tuesday night. Additional accumulations are likely for parts of the 104 corridor and much of Wayne County. Nothing major is expected, but an inch or two for parts of the metro and 3-6″ for parts of Wayne County through Tuesday night before tapering after midnight. Plan on some changeable winter conditions as you head out the rest of Tuesday as windblown lake flakes will cause some slick spots on the roads. Outside of the lake snows, plan on gusty winds and very cold weather into Wednesday. Stay tuned to News10NBC for the latest updates on the snowbands into Tuesday night.
