Deputies release name of man killed after getting hit by multiple vehicles in Avon

AVON, N.Y. — A man, 31, was hit by multiple vehicles and killed while crossing Route 5 in Avon on Tuesday.

Livingston County sheriff’s deputies identified the man as Stephen Letourneau who recently moved to Avon from Canada. First responders arrived around 5:25 p.m. and found him dead at the scene.

Deputies say Letourneau was hit by a vehicle heading east, then hit by more vehicles traveling west. All three drivers remained at the scene and are cooperating with the sheriff’s office investigation into the crash.

The Avon Police Department, the East Avon Fire Department, Lima Fire Department, Livingston County emergency services, also responded to the crash.
