Black Button Distillery gets approval to build state’s largest bourbon aging warehouse

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Black Button Distillery was given the go-ahead to build New York’s largest bourbon barrel aging warehouse.
It comes after a three-month delay for an approval by the Federal Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau. Once up and running, the 28,000 square-foot warehouse on Lyell Avenue will age and store 15,000 barrels of bourbon.
Black Button employs 87 people, making 40 barrels a day with locally sourced ingredients. Last summer, Black Button cut the ribbon on its new distillery and tasting room on University Avenue.
