First Alert Weather: Great into the weekend, then turning unsettled

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Boring, but great weather will stretch into the weekend, with our only real rain chance coming on Thursday with a weak cold front passing through.

This will be moisture-starved, meaning there’s a good chance it will come through dry. Winds will pick up a little bit during the afternoon, and the front itself with only help to lock in our comfortable temperatures and low humidity. Friday and Saturday will feature an abundance of sunshine, with highs in the 70s, overnight lows in the 50s and low humidity. Some more clouds will spread into western New York by Sunday, but most, if not all of the day will be dry.

Our dry weather pattern begins to break down by Monday or Tuesday of next week. An upper-level low may become cut off from the overall flow, meaning our weather will turn much more unsettled, with more clouds, frequent showers, and perhaps a few storms. Cooler air will also accompany this, with highs in the mid-70s through much of next week, before moderating a bit by late week and into next weekend. Timing out specific rain chances this far out is difficult, but we’ll be able to pinpoint showers and thunder a little better as we get into next week.
