ROCHESTER N.Y. (WHEC) — It’s the National Day of Prayer.

Mayor Malik Evans and County Executive Adam Bello made a joint proclamation Thursday morning at Rochester City Hall recognizing the day and celebrating with members of the faith community.

The National Day of Prayer was created by President Harry Truman in 1952. It encourages all Americans to pray on the first Thursday in May.
