ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The CDC has sent a team to New York to investigate a case of polio.
An unvaccinated adult in Rockland County tested positive last month after suffering paralysis.
No other cases have been identified so far but health officials say 11 samples of Poliovirus have been collected from Rockland and Orange Counties’ waste water over the last two months.
The CDC says it’s possible there are hundreds of other cases circulating in the state.
