ROCHESTER N.Y. (WHEC) — The Rochester Downtown Development Corporation on Tuesday announced a series of art, food, and music events.

The RDDC made the announcement on Parcel 5 about the "Downtown Definitely Events", a series of free community events at downtown that will happen from June until December.

During those months, there will be festivals, movies, art, food, live music, and shopping. The goal of this new initiative is to grow economic vitality downtown and bring the community together.

Heidi Zimmer-Meyer, the executive director of Rochester Downtown Partnership, spoke at the event.

“This will create the kind of energy that everybody wants in the middle of the city and this has a huge economic development impact," she said. "But more importantly, it says a lot about who we are as a community and what we’re becoming. So we’re like on cloud nine.”

Eight events have already been announced, such as Fall Fest, Market Place, Eat Up ROC, and Movies with a Downtown View. Click here for more information.
