BRIGHTON, N.Y. — A tractor trailer crashed into a house around South Clinton Avenue and Brighton Henrietta Town Line Road on Wednesday. Three people — the truck diver and two people who were inside the home — had minor injuries, according to the Henrietta Fire Department.

Henrietta Fire Chief Mark Cholach said the truck was traveling on Route 390 northbound during a snow squall and slid off the road, down a hill and across South Clinton Avenue, to crash into a home. The truck is fairly deep inside the home and the first floor is collapsing, firefighters said.

The two people in the home were being evaluated by emergency personnel. The truck driver was briefly trapped but eventually was able to crawl out of the cab and was taken to a nearby hospital with a head injury.

Another car slid off the road behind the truck; that driver’s injuries are minor, according to Henrietta firefighters.

Several high tension power lines were taken out as a result of this crash, knocking out power to many nearby homes and businesses. Cholach says crews would be out for several hours restoring power to the area and helping affected homeowners. Henrietta and Brighton firefighters remain on scene as crews work to extract the truck from the home.

South Clinton Avenue is now open in both directions, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reported around 10:30 p.m. It was shut down between Brighton Henrietta Town Line Road and Reserve View Boulevard. Brighton Police were also at the scene.
