The Market at I-Square in Irondequoit is getting new owners
IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. — The Market at I-Square in Irondequoit is getting new owners. Mike and Wendy Nolan sold The Market to Kelly and Aaron Metras, who own Salena’s Mexican Restaurant in Village Gate.
The Metras say they will continue operations at The Market mostly as is and will make some changes with no downtime. Changes include adding options for people with special dietary needs such as gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options. Enhancements they want to make include hosting events, and adding a coffee shop.
“In this particular location we’re Irondequoit residents. We live down the street so we’ve actually been coming here since I-Square opened um about the last 10 years we’ve been coming here as customers, so we know what a great opportunity it was and how great it was for the town. So when this opportunity presented itself, we had to take advantage of it,” said Aaron Metras.
I-Square was created in 2014 by the Nolan’s who still own the rest of I-Square. It is home to several other dining options: The Reserve, I-Scream, Hong Kong One, and Fish Face.
I-Square is also home to The Imaginarium, Irondequoit Beer Company, Brookside Cottages, and an open lawn and stage. It’s open on Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
