Bills draft Baylor ILB Terrel Bernard in third round
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Bills went defense in round three, selecting a Big 12 product to help boost the defensive line. Baylor inside linebacker Terrel Bernard went to Buffalo with the 89th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Bernard is coming off a tremendous final collegiate game, earning Sugar Bowl MVP honors after tying a Sugar Bowl record with 20 tackles and two sacks.
The 6’1" Bernard was a tackle machine with Baylor, finishing his career with over 300 tackles and 12 sacks.
"Terrel is a physical and a tough guy," said Baylor football head coach Dave Aranda.
That type of mentality should fit in well on a Bills defense that’s been near the top of the NFL in recent years.
