Bills Introduce 1st Round Pick Kaiir Elam
ORCHARD PARK, NY (WHEC) – The Bills welcomed their newest addition to town on Friday afternoon. Buffalo’s 1st round pick (23rd overall), Kaiir Elam met the media with his family present. Elam comes to the Bills from Florida, where he played three years.
There, he earned 1st Team All SEC honors in 2020 and Coaches Freshman All-SEC honoree the year before. This past season, Elam started in ten games, recording 29 tackles and an interception.
Shortly after the selection, General Manger Brandon Beane suggested that Elam’s personality was a natural fit with the culture at One Bills Drive. The rookie himself has been nothing but praiseworthy of where he is now.
"As soon as I got off the plane. It was just something special about Buffalo. You know, I could see myself, envision myself playing here and making a lot of plays. That’s something I’m going to strive to do. Everything happens for a reason, and it’s God’s plan for me to be here. So I think it’s a blessing to be here. And, you know, I’m just excited for the next up next journey in my life."
"I have to earn everything that’s given to me," he added. "And I’m sure I will. I’m super confident that I can help this team acheive the ultimate goal in winning games we’re supposed to and winning games we’re not supposed to."
Elam isn’t the first in his family to play professional Football. His father, Abram played at Notre and his Uncle, Matt, was a former 1st round pick as well.
As of now, Buffalo’s next pick is 25th in the 2nd round of the draft tonight. Follow along here for updates.
