Police: Man hit by car while running across Lyell Avenue

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police say a man has serious injuries after getting hit by a car while running across Lyell Avenue.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigators say the 41-year-old city man was hit near Saratoga Avenue and taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, and is expected to survive.

The driver of the car stayed at the scene and is cooperating.
