NY marks National Donate Life Month

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — April is National Donate Life Month and the state is encouraging people to register as organ donors.
Right now, nearly 8,500 people are waiting for a transplant here in New York.
Landmarks across the state, including the Fairport Lift Bridge, were lit blue and green last week in recognition of "donate life blue and green day."
