Court grants trial date for Whole Foods project

ROCHESTER N.Y. (WHEC) — Brighton Grassroots is once again taking its case against the Whole Foods project to court.

A New York State Supreme Court judge on Thursday granted the group a trial date in December to make its arguments over the size and scope of the project.

The group is suing the town of Brighton. It hopes to reduce the size of the plaza which will serve as the home of Rochester’s Whole Foods store and other retailers.

For six years now Brighton Grassroots has been vocal about concerns the plaza will negatively impact traffic on Monroe Avenue. The trial is scheduled for December 5.
