ROCHESTER N.Y. (WHEC) — The husband of former Mayor Lovely Warren pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine on Monday.
Tim Granison was arrested last spring in a raid at the house he owned with Warren. The only charge he faced in federal court was conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance.
After appearing in federal court about a possible plea deal on November 9, Granison now faces a possible sentence of 5 to 40 years in prison and a fine of $5 million.
Granison offered no comments when he left the federal court building this afternoon. He was arrested last may following a 7-month wiretap investigation.
U.S. Attorney Matthew McGrath said Granison was a member of a drug trafficking organization that distributed large quantities of both cocaine and crack cocaine out of a Glenwood Avenue drug house.
Granison was arrested after investigators observed him pulling up to a home of a co-conspirator located on Birch Crescent in Rochester. At the time of his arrest, 31 grams of cocaine and over $1,200 was recovered.
John Demarco, Timothy Granison’s attorney said "well he accepted responsibility. He is a good person that exercised some bad judgment. He’s gonna live up to that poor judgment, and he’s prepared to serve his sentence."
Granison must turn himself in to federal court on July 25. He is scheduled to be sentenced on September 6.
