ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester New York FC played its inaugural home game at Monroe Community College on Saturday, losing to NYC FC II, 3-2.

Fans with season tickets were invited to the game, which of course wasn’t complete without food trucks, bouncy houses, and boisterous supporters.

"We’re still a little rusty. Our chants can get a little better," said Ed Mello, a longtime RNY FC fan.

Mello and his fellow fanatics had a lot to cheer about. RNY FC struck first after a handball awarded Wylterland Inalien for a first half penalty kick.

Rochester would score once more, but that was one short of how many NYC FC II put up.

RNY FC is back at home on Friday against Orlando City B.
