ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Police have identified the man shot and killed Tuesday afternoon on Lorenzo Street as 32-year-old Jeremy Prescott.

Police are investigating a Tuesday afternoon homicide on Lorenzo Street by Hague Street. Police say they were called to Lorenzo Street at around 1:45 p.m. for an altercation outside that led to a shooting on the front porch of a home. When officers arrived, they found a man in his 30s dead on the porch from a gunshot wound to his upper body.

No one is in custody.

“There’s a million ways to solve those things without a gun and without taking a life, and so that’s unfortunately a tragedy that we’re dealing with today,” Captain Greg Bello with the Rochester Police Department said.

The Major Crimes Unit is investigating. They are asking anyone with video or details about what happened to call 911 or 311.
